Meet Our Executive Director!
Dr. Amara Schook has worked for Project Outreach for the last year working to grow the organization and reach our children by fostering relationships and building on their educational needs. She holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration, but don't let that make you think she has no sense of humor! She went to school for her Bachelor's degree in Theater, so she can play with the best of them. She has served in the non-profit sector for nearly a decade and has worked in education almost 15 years with most of that time in leadership. She spent last year as a 6th grade teacher at a Title 1 school before returning to technical writing and training.
Dr. Schook has always wanted to work with children who have disabilities and got the opportunity to do so when she came to Project Outreach. She was raised with a sibling who had disabilities until he passed as a result of those disabilities. When this position came open, she was delighted for the opportunity to work with children who had exceptionalities and honor her brother in doing so. She is a proud God Mother of 2 girls and a pet parent. She loves working for and with Project Outreach and considers it a privilege to work with such a noble organization.
