At Project Outreach, we are one of the last organizations of our kind in our area that sponsor free respite care for families with disabilities. In a world where time is so precious, we are committed to seeking out community partners who share our vision to provide relief to families twice per month for 4-hour sessions so that they can take care of tasks and share their wonderful children with Project Outreach volunteers and Caregivers.
Who Are We Looking For?
We are looking for Churches, Businesses, and other Non-Profits willing to donate space or be paid a small fee on Saturday afternoons from 1-5 and the occasional Friday night (Fall Festival and Christmas Carnival) for 4-hours. We would love to have such a tremendous outpouring that we could circulate through to have 2 levels of partners. Regular Service (providing at least 1 respite service per month) and Emergency Service (available in the event of a scheduling conflict or Act of God at another location).
What Does the Space Need?
We need our partners to be able to provide an empty room large enough to provide 15-20 children and 5-6 Project Outreach employees within fire code regulations. We would love to have at least 3 tables at 12 chairs and would need access to a restroom. We need 5 permanent parking places and a place for our children to be dropped off that is handicapped accessible. We would love an outdoor play area, but this is a wish list item, not a requirement. The space should also be free of sharp objects or precious items, so something like an art museum would be an obvious challenge.
We understand that taking on a partnership is a commitment and a responsibility. We promise to leave your facility in the condition in which we found it. If at any time that the partnership becomes a challenge for your organization, we would ask that you speak to our Executive Director and provide 30 day notification before making changes due to the nature of the work that we do as you are not committed in any way to continue a relationship with Project Outreach. We would, of course hope that you were overjoyed with working with us, but understand that due to the nature of what you do sometimes partnerships can be difficult.
