Project Outreach: Serving Norman families since 1965
Welcome! We aim to create healthy family environments through respite care. Formerly known as the Norman Day School for Handicapped Children, we have been serving Norman for over 50 years! Our caring staff members work to make sure that each child can shine in their own way, providing unique educational opportunities and activities. We serve all of Cleveland County, so don't think that you just have to live in Norman to come and hang with us! We love children and providing a safe, fun, and caring environment for children and their families. Please check us out on Facebook for regular updates as well!
Our sessions are updated regularly under the "Get Involved" tab on our website. There are times that due to unforeseen circumstances our venues or dates may be changed. When this happens, we post a bulletin on our Facebook page. Please be sure to Like us on Facebook so that you can get the most up to date information from our Executive Director or our volunteers at our sessions!
It is the mission of Project Outreach to be inclusive of as many children with disabilities as possible. We seek to provide families with temporary respite care to promote a healthy family environment. We recognize the need for respite care and seek to provide our services to those in need.
Project Outreach is a non-profit agency providing respite care to children with disabilities and their siblings. We are an agency that envisions respite care for families in the Norman area through volunteerism. We seek to give caregivers of children with disabilities temporary relief from the stress of care giving. Our goal is to continue to provide respite care through the utilization of volunteers and donations. We seek to include as many children as possible. Project Outreach promotes a culture of a caring, relaxed atmosphere and support for those with disabilities. Project Outreach encourages an environment free of judgment and exclusion. We are a support system as well as advocates for children with disabilities and their families.
Experienced and Enthusiastic
Project Outreach is administered by an Executive Director with a Board of Directors that is available for consultation. We have great staff with experience in caring for both children with and without disabilities. Several of our Caregivers and volunteers are CPR trained for added safety!
